Target " Rough Road Ahead "

Hi I'm Ali

I read through this article " Click here "

and it talks about the famous company Target
They are facing hard times; their stocks drop 7 percent
Even the big online company Amazon is facing a similar situation

and BestBuy announced that " employees at its corporate headquarters have signaled they want to accept buyouts ".

I was surprised when I heard that they will close thousands of stores in order to adjust to the drop, including 11 stores of macy's

I think the people don't go to Target to buy food and supplies for home
because it's not really the first or the best place for it
There are another places with better quality and offers

The question is what is the major causes of this situation?
and I disagree with the idea of closing so many branches, because it's not the best idea. there are always another solutions.

  1. That's the big news. It's true that economy are heading down in this time. While no one think about Target will be close in some branch to reduce cost because target is the one of big stores in US.

  2. This article is interesting, because of the economical chaos that is going on. I agree with you. There are other ways to pick up from this crisis. Big branches should try to find what they could offer to the customers. It´s part of any economic system makes the money move from hand to hand. And, I don´t considere that stopping payments or increasing prices could be the best option.

  3. It sounds like the major problem for Target is that they don't have the "value image". Like you said, many people don't think Target is the best place for food and home supply deals.

What do you think this term means?
    "pick up steam"

Also, you mention that closing stores might not be a good idea. How can businesses save money in a different way?
